Because We've Been There Too.
At The Educator Experience, we’re not just building courses—we’re building the support system I wish I had when I first started teaching.
Hi, I’m Salli Carter, founder of The Educator Experience, entrepreneur, and post-secondary instructor. Like many of you, I didn’t come into education through a traditional academic path. I came from the world of business—leading teams, managing projects, and working in fast-paced environments where onboarding and support were structured and intentional.
When I landed my first teaching position, I was excited, qualified, and ready to share what I knew. But what I wasn’t ready for was how alone I’d feel. I was handed a course outline and a classroom key—and that was about it. No clear policies, no mentoring, no community. Just a quiet office and a lot of guessing. It was overwhelming, disorienting, and at times, deeply isolating. And as I began speaking to colleagues across institutions, I realized I wasn’t the only one.
That experience sparked the creation of The Educator Experience.
What started as a personal frustration turned into a mission: to create practical, research-informed resources—and a genuine sense of community—for new educators navigating the messy, unpredictable, and often unsupported early stages of teaching.
Because while tools and templates are helpful, what so many of us are really craving is connection. A place to ask questions without fear of judgment. A space to say, “Is it just me?” and hear, “Nope, it’s all of us.”
At The Educator Experience, we’re not just filling knowledge gaps—we’re building relationships. Whether it’s through our podcast, peer-led courses, or community spaces, we’re creating a network where educators can share their stories, support one another, and grow together—because no one should have to teach in isolation.
I teamed up with other passionate educators and researchers from across Canada—people who had walked the same path, felt the same stress, and wanted to do better for those just starting out. Together, we’ve built a growing hub of courses, tools, and conversations that speak directly to the real challenges new instructors face.
We’re not a corporate training company. We’re a community of educators who understand what it’s like to walk into your first class and wonder if you’re the only one who doesn’t have it all figured out.
We know what policies trip people up.
We know where the burnout begins.
We know what no one tells you about that first semester.
And we’re here to change that.
Whether you're walking into your very first class or looking to rebuild your confidence mid-career, The Educator Experience is here to offer support that’s practical, personalized, and deeply human.
You don’t have to figure this all out alone anymore.
Let’s help you teach with confidence, connect with purpose, and grow with a community that truly gets it.
